Psychotherapy

By talking to a trained therapist, young people can begin to make sense of a range of complex feelings and emotions which can relieve underlying unhappiness, worry or distress. Some issues young people might face which can be helped in therapy include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, friendship and relationship difficulties, social media addiction and many other difficult emotional experiences. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can be particularly helpful when it seems hard to make sense of what might be going on. Therapy takes place weekly at the same time and the number of sessions is usually discussed together during the assessment.

Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (Brief 16 sessions)

Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) is a short-term, focused talking therapy that helps young people understand the connection between their relationships, emotions, and wellbeing. Over a series of weekly sessions, we identify patterns in the way they relate to others—patterns that may be contributing to low mood, anxiety, or difficulties in school, friendships, or family life.

By exploring these patterns together, DIT offers a safe space to make sense of feelings, develop healthier ways of relating, and build emotional resilience. It’s collaborative, goal-focused, and designed to help young people feel more confident in managing their emotions and relationships. If this therapy is of interest then we would discuss suitability in our assessment
